Boston Marathon Training: Weeks 3 and 4

Welcome back to the Tale of 2 Halfs and I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas. It has been a crazy few weeks for me with training ramping up and a lot of traveling to celebrate the holidays with family. This post is a few days late, but it’s been nice seeing family for the first time in 18 months, so the delay is okay For Christmas, my wife got me my first piece of Boston Marathon gear – an Adidas Superlite Hat to motivate me during my training. It was a wonderful gift but I was a little nervous to try it on. Having something with the infamous unicorn logo sure makes you realize that your running dream is getting closer to becoming a reality.

Here is a look at how my last two weeks have been:

WEEK 3

Monday: Off Day

Tuesday: 6 Miles with hill sprints (6 Miles)

Wednesday: 5 Miles Easy (4-6 Miles)

Thursday: 7.5 Miles with 2 @ Half Marathon Pace (6+ Miles)

Friday: Skipped Run (4-6 Miles)

Saturday: 5 Miles Aerobic (4=6 Miles)

Sunday: 12 Miles  (100 Minutes)

Total Ran = 35.5 Miles (42 Miles Possible, 85% Completed)

 

WEEK 4

Monday: Off Day

Tuesday: 7 Miles with Hill Sprints (7 Miles)

Wednesday: 5 Miles Easy (4-6 Miles)

Thursday: 4 Miles Easy (4-6 Miles)

Friday: 6 Miles Aerobic (6-7 Miles)

Saturday: 6 Miles Easy (4-6 Miles)

Sunday: 10 Miles Easy (7-10 Miles)

Total Ran = 38 Miles (42 Miles Possible, 90% Completed)
